The time was ripe for a multi-billion dollar revenue company to sell its natural gas subsidiary.  Selling this gas company would put all 150 employees out of work, most of whom had been with the company for years.  We helped them implement a transition strategy for assisting their employees and their management team through the entire sales cycle, maintaining high morale and high productivity to the end.  Tackling the human side of exiting the gas business turned out to have a bonus.  External auditors determined that effectively addressing the psychological impact on employees and managers contributed to getting a higher price for the sale of the company.  Good stewardship turned out to be good business.
